This week A. Lamp Concrete Contractors continued survey and construction layout onsite. Additionally, A. Lamp began removal of the existing sidewalk from Pickwick Avenue (south side of West Lake Ave) to the east approximately 200 feet and also began earth excavation for the temporary pavement to be installed on the south side of West Lake Avenue from Greenwood Road to approximately 200 feet east of Pickwick Avenue. During this work traffic was restricted to 1 lane at a time, which will be a common procedure for this project. The detour was put into effect on Friday to re-route regional traffic away from the construction site. For the remainder of the project, the site will be closed to thru traffic and local traffic should expect delays.
Next week A. Lamp Concrete Contractors is scheduled to begin installation of temporary asphalt pavement on Monday in those locations excavated this week. On Tuesday, the crews will begin establishing a traffic pattern which includes the use of the temporary pavement. Wednesday thru Friday A. Lamp is scheduled to begin storm sewer installation, which will take place from the railroad tracks to the west approximately 500 feet.
